Pyraminx
Layer by layer
The easiest after the 2x2: tips, centres, the bottom face and the last three edges. 3 algorithms are enough.
How to read the moves
A Pyraminx has four vertices: U (top), L (left), R (right) and B (back). An uppercase letter turns the layer at a vertex by 1/3 of a turn, a lowercase letter only the tip itself.
Without an apostrophe: clockwise, looking at that vertex. An apostrophe is a turn the other way.
On the net the coloured pieces are the ones the move shifts.
- ULayer at the top vertex
- LLayer at the left vertex
- RLayer at the right vertex
- BLayer at the back vertex
- uJust the top tip
- rJust the right tip
Step-by-step method
1. Tips
intuitiveThe four small tips match the colours of the centres below them.

- You turn a tip separately, without affecting the rest: with the lowercase moves u, l, r, b.
- Do it at the start or at the end; it’s always one move per tip.
